We receive such a bewildering range of different information from our environment that our brain cannot take everything in and a natural filtering process is applied, whereby only the relevant information is stored and made retrievable at a later time. Which extra information do we need to take in our environment in such a way that allows us to rely on our perception?
Here, your gut feeling is a key pointer: it processes your experiences and signals you have subconsciously perceived from the environment. There are people that you cannot “feel”, or environments where you feel below par: can you rely on your gut feeling? Even in a professional setting?
